The user manual is the main guide regarding the use of machines and equipment.
Basic rules
- Arrive on time and be prepared at the start of working hours.
- Notify your manager as early as possible if you are prevented from attending work.
- You must be unaffected by drugs.
- All assignments must be risk assessed.
- The company’s work clothes, and personal protective equipment must be used.
- Daily safety checks of machines must be carried out and hours recorded daily in XAGO.
- As an employee, you are expected to act in line with the company’s vision and values.
Order
- Handle inventory, equipment, and machinery with care.
- Everyone has a duty to keep the company’s vehicles and machinery tidy and clean.
- Always remove trash and wash as needed. Windows and mirrors should always be kept clean with clear visibility.
- Make sure there is a minimum of half a tank of fuel when you are finished with the vehicle.
- Protect the external environment by minimizing emissions, sorting waste, and familiarizing yourself with the environmental requirements of our customers.
- Oil spills must be cleaned up immediately, reported to the manager and RUH registered.
- When using absorbent, it must be treated as special waste.
Machinery / equipment
- The user manual is the main guide for procedures in relations to machinery and equipment.
- Documented training must be accessible for machines and the equipment to be used.
- All cargo and equipment must be fastened securely during transport.
- Lifting equipment must be visually controlled before use.
- “One must travel with consideration, and be vigilant and cautious”, cf. Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act.
Generally
- In all Nordic Crane premises and vehicles, there is a ban on smoking.
- You must protect the employer’s interests, and not act in a way that damages the company’s reputation or business operations.
- You are expected to behave politely and kindly towards the company’s customers and partners.
- You cannot obtain financial benefits from people you meet on behalf of the company.
- Statements or images on social media concerning work assignments must be approved by those they affect.
- Kynningsrud’s policy for substance abuse and gambling must be followed.
- Operators who lose their right to drive risk unpaid leave until their right to drive is restored.
- If the right to drive is lost due to driving under the influence, this may result in dismissal.
Breach of safety rules, routines, or legislation
MAIN RULE
- 1. Misdemeanor – Meeting verbal warning/corrective conversation.
- 2. Misdemeanor – Meeting written warning.
- 3. Misdemeanor – Discharge/Dismissal.
- Serious violations warrant direct written warning.
- The warning has an effect of two years.
- Serious breaches of duty may result in direct discharge or dismissal, and one might be barred from the workplace.
EXAMPLES OF SERIOUS BREACHES OF DUTY
- Commit serious or repeated misdemeanors that may endanger life and health.
- Reckless use that puts machinery and equipment at risk of property damage.
- Disabling the crane’s safety system unless it is required in accordance with the user manual in conjunction with assembling/dismantling.
- Deliberately conducting lift operation with overload.
- Being under the influence of drugs at work.
- Failure to meet on time repeatedly or leave the workplace without permission before the end of working hours.
- Refusal of order.
