It must be clarified prior to the lifting operation who will be the signaller.
The form of communication must be agreed upon in the SJA.
If the crane operator and signaller do not have continuous communication, or if the crane operator does not understand the signaller’s signals, he will stop the load at a safe height and await new signals.
When the load is not visible, the requirements/standards for blind lifting apply.
