Necessary blocking of areas must be carried out before the lifting operation begins. Cargo must not be lifted over personnel. Personnel will not go beneath airborne cargo. All personnel involved in the lifting operation must guarantee a free escape route in all phases during the operation.
To prevent unauthorized persons from entering the work area, section off the area with physical barriers such as trestles, cordons and/or chains. If necessary, a guard can also implemented.
Rotating yellow light is a good supplement when it comes to highlighting that work is taking place.
When working in the dark, make sure that the workplace is sufficiently lit, either with the machine’s own work light or with additional light sources.
For work on or along roads, there must be signs in accordance with regulations. Employees who carry out work on roads must have the necessary training in work notification.
