- In the case of blind lifting, the crane operator must decide who will be responsible for signaling and slinging and agree on the necessary means of communication for signaling.
- The crane operator must ensure that the slinger and signaller have documented competence to carry out the lifting operation.
- The crane operator must also ensure that the lifting equipment to be used is in good condition and in accordance with the manufacturer’s operating instructions and specifications.
