Safe job analysis for grabbing and dredging must be completed and must at the very least describe:
- Where and what to grab or dredge
- Crane operator’s competence – sufficient competence in the form of training/experience in the use of relevant work equipment.
- Risk assessment regarding any negative environmental impacts.
- Assurance that the user manual for grab and lifting equipment is available in the crane during the assignment.
- Notice of digging
- Water flow when grabbing in waterways (where applicable)
